Do you have any unfinished projects? Well I sure do. But they aren’t of the domestic hobbies sort. The last time I picked up a pair of knitting needles was in junior high. I did complete that afghan by the way! I’ve never been crafty for various reasons but your unfinished projects may be of that kind.
Or perhaps like me your unfinished projects are of a different variety. My unfinished projects are mostly of the organizational kind at the moment. Now I consider myself a fairly organized and organization minded person but I have found myself in the last few years in a season that is so much busier than any other in my life that I need to step it up in organizing my life but my organizing my life projects sit unfinished mostly because of a lack of time which is why the need for better organization in the first place! So much for that organized household manager binder! With the busy season, my to do list keeps growing and you guessed it – those unfinished items become unfinished projects. From one unfinished project to another and back again!
As I wrote to a friend recently that my life is a whole bunch of unfinished projects, the next words off my fingertips were “just like me – an unfinished project.” Now isn’t that the truth! You and I are unfinished projects in God’s workmanship. He’s still working on us completing all that needs to be done. Paul told us so. “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6). Now isn’t that something to be thankful for! No matter what you’re experiencing today or how you’re feeling about yourself, you can thank God for beginning a good work in you and for the work that He is doing to complete it. ( If you’re not sure that He has begun a good work in you, click here). It may not always feel good but the end result will be glorious!
