If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord who could stand?
But with You there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared. Psalm 130:3
Who could stand? Not one of us. The Bible tells us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”* and that “the wages of sin is death.” But that’s not all that the Bible tells us. We discover that “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”* And because He died, was buried and rose again, we can be forgiven. With You, O Lord, there is forgiveness. Don’t those words just bless your soul?
Lord, I stand in awe of You, the High and Holy One, who forgives my sin not because of my righteousness (I have none) but because of the righteousness of Jesus. May I live my days in awe, reverence and respect walking in obedience to You.
Have you received the forgiveness that is yours in Christ Jesus? The Good News is that while “the wages of sin is death”, “the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Have you received His gift? Find out here.
