Praying Through Ephesiansn~ Eph 2:8-10

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10

O Father,

I must admit it has been so wonderful to stop for a moment this week and reflect back to when I first sensed you wooing me to You; when I first began to realize my desperate need for You!

Father, I am so grateful that from the very beginning You have always desired and planned for us to be with You throughout eternity. To think that we could somehow convince a pure and holy God that we were worthy, adorned in our filthy rags you call our sins, to enter Your Kingdom, yet Father there are still so many believing this today!

Thank You for Your Son and all He did to make a way for us! How foolish to think we could add anything to what Christ Jesus has already done through the perfection of His sacrifice on our behalf. Perhaps because He paid such a horrific price we think there must be more we should do than to simply accept THE GIFT You offer each of us! How grateful I am to know that the ground is level at the cross. That our salvation does not come from anything we can do to earn our way to heaven, so that no one could have a reason to boast! I humbly thank You once more for this most precious gift and ask that I never take it for granted.

And Father, though You discourage good works to bring us to salvation, I rejoice in knowing that we are indeed Your workmanship! You have carefully fashioned each one of us with unique gifts and talents, for the work you planned long ago that we should do! So Father, with a grateful heart I bow to ask You that each of us, being mindful of all we have already received, would work to our utmost in completing the work you have preordained each of us to do, to Your praise and glory in Christ Jesus. Amen.
