Praise and Thanksgiving ~ M & M Monday

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

I read these words and cannot help but be filled with gratitude to God.  How about you?  Look at all He does for us! He forgives ALL my iniquity and yours. He heals ALL our diseases. He redeems our lives from the pit ……  I wonder if Paul was thinking of Psalm 103 as he penned these words: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3).

We have so much to be thankful for as we “forget not all his benefits” but what I love most about this psalm is its’ focus on praising the One who gives us all His benefits.  Bless the Lord, O my soul ….. Whether we’re on the mountain top or in the valley or somewhere in between,  these words etched in our minds and hearts can give way to praise and thanksgiving to the One from whom all blessings flow.

If you’re memorizing with us, option 1 is Psalm 103:1-2 and option 2 is Psalm 103:1-5.  You can join us on ScriptureTyper by clicking the group link below.  Will you just meditate on these verses this week?  Right click on our photo and set it as your desktop as a reminder to praise and thank the Lord this week!
