It’s a theme that has been running through various posts lately. If you are a regular reader here at T2 Women you may have noticed that as I have. The theme of contentment runs through the pages of Scripture as well which really is why it’s been running through our posts! So for the next few weeks, contentment will be the focus of our weekly M & M Monday verses. It’s awesome to have the Lord leading the way, isn’t it?!! This is also the first week of our next 5 week session of memorizing so it’s a great time to begin memorizing and meditating on the Word with us.
I really think that our last memory verse leads perfectly into our look at contentment. In verse 25 of Psalm 73, the psalmist said, ” Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is ______ on earth that I desire but You?”. True contentment grows in an intimate relationship with our Father in heaven. When we find our contentment in Him, all else will pale in comparison. Can we say that we desire nothing on earth but Him as the psalmist did? We had a discussion about this on Facebook when we memorized this verse. It’s definitely a verse to turn into a prayer.
This week our verse is from the book of Hebrews. “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” (13:5) Are you truly content with what you have? We absolutely have all we need- the One who will never leave us or forsake us. The One who promises to supply all our needs. Seek Him this week and be blessed!
