Forsaking all I trust Him

Eleven weeks ago, we began this journey!  We have just one woman left!  It’s not to late to join us!  Next week, we’ll wrap up this winter session of the Women in the Word so don’t miss it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We’re turning a page in the history of the Hebrew people this week. Moses, Aaron, and Miriam have all died. And Joshua, the son of Nun, has been called to lead the people over the Jordan and into the land promised to Abraham. (Genesis 12:1)  Joshua secretly sends two spies out to look over the  land. On their mission, the spies lodge in the house of a Canaanite woman named Rahab. The decision she makes changes the course of her life. What does her life teach us about God? about faith? Come and find out with us!
Our Memory Verse : This week we’re sharing two verses. We encourage you to memorize both but either/or is just as good!
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”  Ephesians 2:8
“For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.”  James 2:2
“Works are not the cause of salvation; works are the evidence of salvation. True saving faith is always manifested by good works and a life that desires to live in obedience to God. Ephesians 2:8-10 makes it very clear that works do not save us but that we are saved “for good works which God prepared beforehand that we would walk in them.”  Why is faith without works dead?
→ We’ll be reading about Rahab in Joshua 2; 6:15-25, Matthew 1:5, Hebrews11:31, and James 2:25
