Dedication

In my teens and even early twenties, I never read the Bible, rarely attended church and thought myself to be wise. I knew what I wanted and how things ought to be; at least I thought I did. At times, circumstances would hit and leave me wondering about this life and the next and even about God. Was He real? If so, where was He? And most importantly, how do I get His attention? And if I’m honest, I often wondered if all that I knew to be true, really was! Can you relate?
It was during some of those times when I picked up my tiny pocket New Testament I kept tucked away in a drawer and decided I was going to start reading to find the answers to my questions. I’d start right on page one, which was Matthew, chapter one and read down half the page and then stop, look up, and begin to wonder, “What in the world did I just read!??” Then I closed up the book, tuck it back in the drawer and went on my way again.
Finally, at twenty-four, my husband and I decided it was time to take our little family to church. It was there I began to understand the Bible and who Christ Jesus was and still is. I can also tell you that once I began to understand His Word, all of life began to make complete sense! One of my favorite verses has always been:

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
 Hebrews 13:8

And so is His Word. The world and everything in it is changing constantly; marriages, families, relationships, jobs, health, status; you name it, nothing stays the same forever! But just knowing He is the same today as He was yesterday and will continue to remain the same forever, that very thought can bring such incredible peace…
People are going to fail us at times. We can’t count on everything remaining the same tomorrow, but there is One who is constant. One who knows us better than we know ourselves. One who desires to go through this life with us, so that we will never have to go it alone. One who not only wants you to succeed in life but to shine, and don’t we all want that?!

I hope you’ll join us! sue
