Thanks for joining us in our study of the Women in the Word. Are you a first time visitor to the T2 Women? We’d love for you to join us this week as we look into the lives of Dinah and Tamar. You can find out everything you need to know about the Women in the Word Bible study by clicking here!
Our study continues this week as Jacob has parted ways with his father-in-law Laban. He’s returning to the land of his fathers and to his kindred with his wives, children and all the possessions he has acquired in Paddan-aram. After reuniting with his brother Esau, Jacob settles his family in the city of Shechem in the land of Canaan. There are dark days ahead for the family of Jacob. Young Dinah, the daughter of his wife Leah, is defiled by the son of Hamor, “the prince of the land.” Then, Judah, the fourth son of his wife Leah, acts unrighteously toward his daughter-in-law Tamar. What is there for us to learn from the bleak times in these women’s lives? Much as we’ll soon find out.
→ We will be reading about Dinah in Genesis 33:18 – Genesis 35:5 and about Tamar in Genesis 38.
→ Our memory verse for this week is Romans 5:20.
But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.
