Cream Cheese Sausage Balls (Guest Post by Karen Gentry )

I’d like to introduce you to a new friend of ours:

Karen Gentry over at Where The Flours Bloom

We became friends through Pinterest. Karen is a wife and mom whose passions are cooking and photography, which is very obvious once you visit her site! She also lives in a small town in Tennessee and since most of us here at T2 Women have northern roots, we thought Karen’s Southern cooking would be a welcomed treat! Cream Cheese Sausage Balls are a perfect example. A party just isn’t a party down South without including sausage balls as an appetizer, and these look amazing! Please feel free to check out her blog for other great Southern recipes!

I found this recipe on Pinterest and these are by far the best sausage balls I’ve ever made. What makes these sausage balls so good? Well, the secret ingredient is cream cheese. The cream cheese keeps the sausage balls very moist and tender. I used hot sausage to give the sausage balls a little kick, but regular sausage would work well too.

1 lb hot sausage, uncooked
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 1/4 cups Bisquick
4 oz cheddar cheese, shredded

Preheat oven to 400F.

Mix all ingredients until well combined. (I use my KitchenAid mixer with the dough hook attachment) Roll into 1-inch balls. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until brown.

Thanks Karen!! I’m really looking forward to trying them and what you have planned for us next week!

‘Til then, sue
